Acne and pimples on your buttocks treatment in nottingham
At some time or the other we’ve all experienced a spotty bum.
It can’t be helped it happens, but there are options out there which can help these pimples
on our derrieres and prevent future eruptions.
Firstly you need to know what type of butt acne it is.
The most common type is folliculitis, this is not butt acne! Folliculitis is mostly caused when
staphylococcus bacteria or staph aureus (bacteria, yeast or fungus) infects a hair follicle.
You will usually find staph bacteria naturally lives on your skin with no problems but when
they get into a break in the skin (such as when you scratch yourself, shaving, friction from
clothing, rubbing hard with a towel after bathing etc) an infection will result and this is where
the folliculitis emerges.
Folliculitis commonly appears as small, shallow lumps which tend to be itchy and painful,
when they become irritated large cyst-like clusters will develop these are called carbuncles.
Carbuncles will appear when folliculitis gets out of control, they look like a cluster of boils, or
an acne cyst, they tend to be painful and appear to have pus in them
If not treated properly both folliculitis and carbuncles can leave scarring on your butt.
Treatment options
Most of the time folliculitis eruptions will go away by themselves if they don’t you may need
to visit your doctor who will probably prescribe a topical antibiotic cream or wash.
If you’ve developed carbuncles more intensive treatment is needed, again from your doctor,
you may need an oral antibiotic for the infection and the carbuncle may need to be lanced to
drain the accumulation of puss
You must never try this yourself at home.
How do prevent folliculitis and carbuncles?
Wearing loose clothing to prevent friction to your buttocks and when drying after bathing pat
the skin dry opposed to rubbing the skin dry. After exercising shower as soon as possible.
At Medskin clinic we recommend a booty skin peel, this is similar to what you would
have on your face but a higher concentration of the acids in the peel. Over the past
few years booty peels have become more popular for both male and females.
